Material Science Consultant

Job Summary

To support a frontier AI lab, the part-time Material Science Consultant will review AI training problems and assess their scientific realism and design, working remotely on a contractor basis.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI training problems and research environments for scientific realism and design quality
• Assess the grading of problems without solving them directly
• Complete tasks that typically take 30-90 minutes each

Required qualifications

• Master's/PhD or 4+ years of professional experience in Material Science or Material Engineering
• Ability to start immediately
• Skills in providing constructive feedback and detailed annotations
• Excellent structured communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
