Materials Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Remote Materials Engineer for a contract position to support a critical materials data management initiative by populating databases, consolidating material information, and reviewing technical documentation.

Key responsibilities:

• Populate a centralized materials database with SDS information, chemical names, CAS numbers, and supplier data
• Consolidate part-level material information into a searchable device-level database
• Engage suppliers to obtain missing material information and support engineering and regulatory activities

Required qualifications:

• Degree or background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant industry experience
• Ability to read and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and understand chemical names and CAS numbers
• Strong Excel and data management skills
• Experience with polymers/plastics and in regulated industries such as medical devices or pharmaceuticals is preferred
