Job Summary

Reviewing designs of aerospace hardware, the contract Materials Process and Parts Engineer will evaluate compliance with military specifications and support failure analyses and material characterization in a remote setting.

Key responsibilities
  • Evaluate aerospace hardware designs for compliance with MIL-STD-11991 and related military specifications
  • Analyze and characterize metallic and non-metallic materials and processing techniques for procurement and design requirements
  • Support failure analyses, mechanical testing, corrosion studies, and environmental compatibility assessments
Required qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of experience working with MIL-STD-11991 requirements
  • Experience developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs) for Department of Defense organizations
  • Strong understanding of aerospace disciplines, including corrosion control and metal/composite fabrication
  • Ability to interpret manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bill of Materials
  • A degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or Physics is highly recommended
