Job Summary
Providing virtual peer support to pregnant and postpartum individuals, the part-time Maternal Health Peer Specialist will offer empathetic listening, validation, and guidance while navigating perinatal transitions in a remote contract role.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver virtual peer support grounded in personal lived experience throughout pregnancy and postpartum
- Engage members through outreach, encouraging connection to Canopie services based on their needs
- Document interactions clearly and consistently within Canopie's platform while recognizing when clinical support may be necessary
Required qualifications
- Lived experience with pregnancy and/or postpartum within the last 3-5 years
- Some experience in maternal health, peer support, community-based work, or caregiving roles
- Strong digital literacy with video platforms, messaging tools, and documentation systems
- Ability to provide virtual support and build connections in a digital environment
- Reliable, organized, and responsive in a remote setting
