Math Contest Teaching Assistant

Job Summary

Providing real-time support and mentoring for students preparing for math contests, the freelance Sunday Math Contest Teaching Assistant will work remotely, answering questions and offering encouragement during live text-based classes held on Sundays from 7:20 - 9:00 pm ET.

Key responsibilities

• Answer student questions and provide hints during live classes
• Mentor students preparing for various math contests, including MATHCOUNTS and AMC
• Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment

Required qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older
• Strong command of math content; knowledge in physics, Python, or chemistry is a plus
• Good English writing and typing skills
• Experience with math contests such as AMC, AIME, or USA(J)MO is required
• Pursuing or holding a degree in a STEM field is preferred
