MBSE Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Automation MBSE Engineer to support the FAA in modernizing and optimizing automation systems across the National Airspace System.

Key Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity SysML/UAF models of NAS automation systems and define system interfaces and data exchange protocols
• Develop system-level architectures and functional models, ensuring traceability of requirements to verification evidence
• Execute MBSE-driven trade studies and design experiments to test automation system behaviors under various conditions

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering; Master's Degree preferred
• 10+ years of overall experience, with 5+ years in telecommunication/network modeling for mission-critical systems
• 3+ years of hands-on MBSE/SysML modeling experience using tools such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect
• Domain experience in FAA/NAS, NextGen, or CNS/ATM ground systems
• Familiarity with FAA Systems Engineering Manual and safety/certification contexts like DO 278A
