Mechanical Analysis Engineer

Job Summary

To support a yearlong contract, the Mechanical Analysis Engineer will develop analysis methodologies and software for predicting mechanical behavior of reactor core components while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Develop analysis methodologies using finite element methods and hand calculations for reactor core components
• Create Python software to automate finite element model generation for reactor core analysis
• Perform mechanical analysis and support testing and validation activities for mechanical codes and methods

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering (or equivalent)
• 3+ years of relevant working experience
• Strong experience with finite element analysis (FEA), including nonlinear analysis (Abaqus preferred)
• Expert understanding of finite element methods and solid mechanics
• Coding skills in Python (preferred)
