Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design and delivery of an advanced Control Rod Drive (CRD) System for a next-generation nuclear energy project, the contract Mechanical Design Engineer will work remotely, focusing on the development, integration, and implementation of critical reactor systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial mechanical systems, including requirements development and engineering analyses
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation, such as Design Basis Documents and Interface Control Documents
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to evaluate equipment development requirements and support technology implementation strategies

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited university
• 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 10 or 10+ years for Level 11
• Demonstrated experience designing complex mechanical systems or multidisciplinary engineered systems
• Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control processes
• Experience supporting engineering activities under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
