Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting the design and delivery of an advanced Reactor Air Cooling (RAC) System for a next-generation nuclear energy project, the contract RAC System Design Engineer (Mechanical) will work remotely to design mechanical systems, develop documentation, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design nuclear and industrial mechanical systems, including requirements development and engineering analyses
• Develop and maintain system architecture and design documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory and performance criteria
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and manage technical interfaces with suppliers

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
• 6+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience for Level 10 or 10+ years for Level 11
• Experience designing complex mechanical systems or pressure vessels
• Strong understanding of configuration management principles and design control processes
• Experience supporting engineering activities under quality programs such as ASME NQA-1 or ISO 9001
