Mechanical Design Principal

Job Summary

Responsible for global mechanical engineering direction, the full-time salaried Mechanical Design Principal will oversee the design of datacenter projects, manage relationships with design partners, and ensure compliance with Equinix standards while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design process for a portfolio of datacenters, ensuring technical excellence and cost management
• Evaluate new products and support the implementation of Reference Designs across regional teams
• Manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of design documentation and adherence to standards

Required qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in a Design MEP firm or as an Architectural lead in a Mission Critical Design practice
• Advanced Degree (Masters) in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or extensive relevant experience
• Familiarity with mechanical design practices and regulations in AMER, EMEA, and APAC regions
• PE, CEng, or local equivalent certification is desirable but not essential
• Proficiency in spoken and written English; additional languages are a plus
