Job Summary
To support various ship programs for the US Navy, the part-time Mechanical Engineer - Non-Oily Waste will provide engineering, technical, and logistics support related to wastewater systems, including design, evaluation, and testing of mechanical equipment and systems, while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Create mechanical designs and drawings for wastewater systems
- Perform obsolescence evaluations and assist in finding replacements for outdated equipment
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation for leadership regarding engineering projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Five years of experience in mechanical/electrical system design, repair, and testing
- Active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or ability to obtain one
- Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design tools like AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Experience in developing technical documentation, including drawings and manuals
