Mechanical Simulation Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a remote contract Mechanical Simulation Engineer proficient in OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees, who will develop and execute simulations for fluid dynamics and structural analysis while collaborating with international teams on complex engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for fluid flow and heat transfer problems
• Build and execute nonlinear structural analysis models with OpenSees for seismic evaluation
• Validate simulation results against experimental data and document methodologies for stakeholders

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred
• Proficiency in OpenFOAM for CFD and/or OpenSees for structural analysis
• Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and finite element methods
• Experience working in Linux environments and using scripting tools like Python or Bash
• Ability to communicate clearly in English for documentation and collaboration
