Job Summary
Seeking a Mechanical Simulation Engineer with expertise in OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees, this fully remote, flexible contract role involves developing CFD simulations, executing nonlinear structural analyses, and validating results against benchmarks while committing 10-40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, configure, and run CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for various engineering problems
- Build and execute nonlinear structural and seismic analysis models using OpenSees
- Validate simulation results and document methodologies for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural/Civil Engineering, or a closely related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with OpenFOAM and/or OpenSees
- Strong understanding of continuum mechanics and finite element methods
- Experience working in Linux environments and using command-line tools and scripting
- Ability to interpret and evaluate simulation results with engineering judgment
