Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist 2 to manage the collection of healthcare insurance receivables.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and obtain eligibility and authorization from insurance providers
• Research and monitor unpaid or denied claims, ensuring timely follow-up
• Contact payers to secure payment and handle claim reconsiderations and appeals

Required Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in medical collections, denials, and appeals
• Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI
• Familiarity with third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with health information systems (e.g., EMR, Claim Scrubbers)
