Job Summary

Ensuring timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will verify patient eligibility, conduct research on unpaid claims, and communicate with insurance payers, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services through various methods
• Conduct research to status unpaid or denied claims and monitor claims for missing information
• Contact payers to secure payment of claims and write appeal letters for technical appeals

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least three years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and third-party payer billing procedures
• Demonstrated ability to navigate payer sites for appeals and benefits verification
