Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist will verify eligibility, update patient information, and research unpaid claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify and obtain eligibility and authorization from insurance carriers
• Research and status unpaid or denied claims, including contacting payers for payment resolution
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with corporate policies and insurance guidelines

Required qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in medical collections, denials, and appeals
• Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI coding
• Familiarity with third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Understanding of health information systems, such as EMR and Patient Accounting Systems
