Medical Assistant Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

To support patient onboarding, the full-time remote Medical Assistant Eligibility Specialist will manage eligibility reviews, collect necessary medical records, and maintain clear communication with patients throughout the process.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of patient records and clinical documentation to determine eligibility
• Request, fax, and track medical records from external Primary Care Providers while ensuring HIPAA compliance
• Communicate professionally with patients and colleagues, keeping patients informed during the eligibility process

Required qualifications

• Active Medical Assistant Certification
• At least 1 year of experience in a primary care, endocrinology, or urgent care setting
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Experience in a remote care setting or work from home environment (preferred)
