Medical Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Auditor to conduct chart audits and ensure accurate billing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform chart audits by reviewing patient documentation and making account adjustments as needed
• Communicate charging discrepancies and trends to departmental leadership and provide recommendations based on audit results
• Conduct educational sessions to enhance staff understanding of charge accuracy and documentation requirements

Required Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; 2 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital, clinic, or in billing, auditing, or compliance
• Clinical or coding certification preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
