Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Medical Billing Specialist is a permanent remote position responsible for managing payment collection activities, handling appeals, and communicating with insurance plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct collection activities on appealed claims through various communication methods
• Request additional information from patients and medical records as needed
• Review contracts and identify billing or coding issues, requesting corrections as necessary

Required Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process and patient financial services
• Full understanding of Managed Care collections and related terms
• Knowledge of Managed Care contracts and federal/state requirements
• Intermediate understanding of hospital billing form requirements (UB04 and HCFA 1500)
• Minimum high school education, technical training, or related experience
