Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and organized, the full-time Medical Claims and Billing Specialist will manage all phases of the revenue cycle, including claims submission, payment posting, and resolution of denied claims, while working remotely with a focus on building strong relationships with team members and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely billing of all claims to third-party payers
• Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts
• Identify and correct billing errors, resubmitting claims as necessary

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a healthcare setting specific to billing and accounts receivable
• Ability to interpret and apply insurance payer billing guidelines and claim rules
• Proficiency in claims follow-up, denial resolution, and appeals processes
• CPT and ICD coding knowledge
• Knowledge of ANSI 837 and 835 files, including interpretation skills
