Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support efficient revenue cycle management, the full-time remote Medical Billing Specialist will process referrals, ensure timely billing submissions, and communicate with various stakeholders to improve collection rates and reduce denial rates.

Key responsibilities:

• Review patient files for accuracy, audit claims, and submit primary and secondary billing to payers
• Investigate benefits for pharmacy and medical claims, obtain prior authorizations, and track progress with insurance carriers
• Document case activity and communicate financial obligations to patients, ensuring clarity on therapy costs

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent with specialized training in intake, pharmacy/medical billing, and/or collections
• Two years of experience in Intake, Medical Billing, and/or Collections
• Two years of experience in home infusion therapy
• Proven knowledge of billing processes and systems for all payer types
• Coding Course Certification is highly preferred
