Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Supporting the national billing needs of the Billing and Collections department, the remote Medical Billing Specialist will manage patient demographics, authorizations, and claim details while ensuring clean claims and proper follow-up on denials, working full-time during 8AM-5PM EST or 9AM-6PM EST hours.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and maintain accurate patient data and billing information
• Correct and resubmit denied claims while addressing immediate rejections from the clearinghouse
• Collaborate with the team on insurance issues to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance with third-party payer requirements

Required qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of experience in medical billing
• Basic knowledge of Excel
• Familiarity with billing clean claims, including Medicaid and commercial insurance carriers
• Strong commitment to teamwork and self-accountability
• Ability to think critically and drive continuous improvement in processes
