Medical Billing Specialist
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the full-time Medical AR Follow-up & Denial Specialist will analyze, appeal, and resolve insurance claim denials for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) while working remotely from specified states.
Key responsibilities
- Utilize Universal Software Solutions HDMS to manage denial workflows and ensure coding accuracy
- Draft logical written appeals based on thorough analysis of medical records and payer contracts
- Identify and communicate payer denial trends to management to prevent future billing errors
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in DME billing, coding, and insurance collections
- 1+ years of experience with Universal Software Solutions HDMS or similar DME billing software
- Proven knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial claims management
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transmissions and advanced Excel skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
