Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for the timely submission of medical claims to insurance companies, the full-time remote Medical Billing Specialist will manage billing guidelines, resolve billing rejections, and handle special billing procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize provider billing manuals to obtain billing guidelines and requirements
• Resolve and research billing rejections to ensure accurate claims processing
• Handle special billing procedures, including interim bills and overlap reviews

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of medical collections or billing experience
• Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and NCCI
• Intermediate understanding of third-party billing guidelines and claim forms (UB04/1500)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Intermediate experience with health information systems (e.g., EMR, Claim Scrubbers)
