Medical Billing Team Lead

Job Summary

Guiding a remote team of Billing Associates, the full-time Medical Billing Team Lead will oversee billing operations, ensure compliance, and mentor staff while managing claims, collections, and denial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team of Billing Associates, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Oversee claims submission and coding accuracy, serving as the first point of escalation for complex issues
• Maintain documented billing workflows and ensure team compliance with industry regulations and internal protocols

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
• Strong understanding of medical coding standards and insurance claim processes
• Experience with Apero or similar practice management/billing software preferred
• Professional coding or billing certification (CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA, or CMRS) is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a remote team effectively
