Medical Coder Trainee

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coder Trainee to join their Revenue Cycle Management Division in a remote position.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assign appropriate ICD-10-CM coding to medical diagnoses, procedures, and services
• Gain knowledge of department procedures and operations
• Integrate medical coding and reimbursement rule changes into practice reimbursement processes

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
• Must have completed ICD class and Unbillables (UB) training
• At least one medical billing credential through AAPC or AHIMA is required (CPC, CPC-A, CCS, CCS-P)
• Previous RCM Medical Translator experience is strongly preferred
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology necessary for coding
