Medical Coding Associate
Job Summary
Executing internal payment integrity solutions, the remote Associate, Payment Integrity IBR will perform detailed reviews of high-dollar facility itemized bills, identify billing errors, and ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform line-by-line reviews of high-dollar facility itemized bills and corresponding claim forms
- Identify and document potential billing errors, including duplicate billing and improper unbundling of services
- Apply knowledge of national coding systems to validate the accuracy of codes used for billed services
Required qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant experience
- 2+ years of bill/coding audit experience focused on hospital or facility billing (UB-04)
- 4+ years of experience in medical coding
- Medical coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA
- Experience with reimbursement methodologies and claims processing practices
