Medical Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Coding Specialist to review EMS claims and process them accurately.

Key Responsibilities

• Review claims and assign a level of service, a carrier, and all necessary information for claim processing
• Ensure all signatures are in order and that the claim is medically necessary with the appropriate level of service
• Handle a large volume of claims daily while meeting expected deadlines

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Experience as a Paramedic, EMT, RN, LPN, or prior experience coding emergency medical claims is preferred
• Knowledge and experience in medical billing is required
• Strong computer skills with a basic understanding of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Minimum typing speed of 40 wpm
• Ability to work in a quiet environment and manage a high volume of work efficiently
