Medical Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Performing collection activities for assigned accounts, the full-time Medical Collections Specialist will contact patients and insurance representatives to resolve payment issues while maintaining collection files in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct collection activities by contacting patients, insurance companies, and other relevant parties to resolve payment issues
• Check claim status, obtain insurance information, and counsel patients on financial arrangements via phone or mail
• Maintain detailed records in the accounts receivable system and process accounts for write-off as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in collections or related field
