Medical Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Performing all activities related to collections, the full-time Medical Collections Specialist will verify insurance eligibility, negotiate prices, and collect reimbursements for billed accounts while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verify insurance eligibility for services and accounts with questionable status
• Collect reimbursement for billed and aged accounts, processing daily correspondence to appeal third-party carriers
• Document all communication related to collection procedures and resolve billing issues

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of medical billing or collections experience
• Proficiency in MS Excel
• Knowledge of major medical and PBM claims
• Strong customer service skills
