Job Summary

Ensuring the timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist 2 will work remotely to verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid claims.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services through various methods, including payer websites and direct communication with insurance carriers
• Conducts research on unpaid or denied claims and communicates with payers to secure payment
• Updates patient demographics and billing information while adhering to compliance policies and procedures

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience with accounts receivable software and navigating payer sites for claims follow-up
• Knowledge of medical business office procedures and third-party payer billing practices
• Demonstrated ability to meet productivity requirements and communicate effectively with payers
