Job Summary

Focused on ensuring timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist will work remotely to verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid or denied claims.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services and updates insurance information in relevant systems
• Conducts research on unpaid or denied claims and communicates with payers to secure payment
• Adheres to compliance policies and prepares claims for clinical audit processing as needed

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience with accounts receivable software and navigating payer sites for claims follow-up
• Knowledge of medical business office procedures and third-party payer billing practices
• Demonstrated ability to meet performance objectives, including a productivity requirement of 45 claims per day
