Job Summary

To ensure timely collection of outstanding healthcare insurance receivables, the full-time Medical Insurance Accounts Receivable Specialist will verify patient eligibility, update insurance information, and conduct research on unpaid claims while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Verifies patient eligibility and authorization for healthcare services and updates patient demographics in relevant systems
• Conducts research on unpaid or denied claims and communicates with payers to secure payments
• Follows compliance guidelines and prepares claims for clinical audit processing when necessary

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least three years of experience in healthcare insurance accounts receivable follow-up
• Experience identifying billing errors and resubmitting claims
• Knowledge of accounts receivable practices and third-party payer billing procedures
• Demonstrated ability to navigate accounts receivable software and Microsoft Office applications
