Medical Insurance Collector

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Medical Insurance Collector will work remotely to resolve insurance claim denials and non-payments by collaborating with insurance companies, preparing necessary documentation, and maintaining accurate records throughout the collection process.

Key responsibilities:

• Work with insurance companies to identify reasons for claim denials or non-payments and initiate appropriate actions for resolution
• Follow up on claims to ensure payment or exhaustion of recourse while maintaining compliance with company policies
• Research accounts and verify insurance benefits, documenting all interactions and updates in the collection system

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a healthcare revenue cycle environment focused on insurance billing and collections
• Advanced knowledge of healthcare insurance, including managed care and reimbursement methodologies
• Familiarity with medical terminology and basic anatomy
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
