Medical Order Specialist

Job Summary

To support a remote healthcare team, the Medical Order Specialist will review and process changes to patient orders, validate prescriptions and insurance coverage, and maintain accurate documentation while working independently in a detail-driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Review and process changes to existing patient orders for accuracy and compliance
• Validate prescription accuracy and verify insurance coverage, submitting necessary authorizations
• Communicate with patients and internal teams to resolve order issues and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of healthcare administrative, order processing, or insurance experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Home health, DME, or enteral experience preferred
• Knowledge of insurance authorization processes is a plus
