Medical Practice Assistant

Job Summary

To support a dynamic healthcare environment, the part-time Medical Practice Assistant in Digital Health will provide patient-centered care and operational support, ensuring optimal patient experience through coordination of clinical activities and data management, working hybrid with two weeks in-office and two weeks remote.

Key responsibilities

• Proficiently performs patient service activities, ensuring comfort, safety, and privacy while coordinating with the clinical team
• Assists patients with health system navigation, appointment scheduling, and financial counseling as needed
• Documents patient encounters accurately and timely, maintaining compliance with clinical standards and practices

Required qualifications

• Three years of customer service experience, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting
• Completion of coursework towards accredited medical terminology is preferred
• Experience or training as a Medical Office Assistant is a plus
• Familiarity with diagnostic ICD-9-CM coding and HCPCS-CPT4 procedure codes
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate competence in electronic health records
