Medical Professional Liability Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriter - Medical Professional Liability.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate risk through the review of new and renewal business, determining risk acceptance, pricing terms, and conditions
• Participate in committee and department meetings, preparing underwriting reports and reviews as requested by management
• Work with internal sales and marketing to foster and maintain insured relationships and identify prospects for business development

Required Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor's degree in risk management and insurance or another business field, or a minimum of eight years insurance experience in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of two years of medical professional liability underwriting experience required
• Completion or progress towards an insurance or professional liability designation (e.g., RPLU, CPCU, AINS) desired
• Understanding of insurance and medical terminology and underwriting principles required
• Resident P&C insurance agent's license may be required (can be obtained within one year from employment start date)
