Job Summary

To support the indexing of medical and administrative records, the full-time Medical Records Indexer will work remotely to accurately index approximately 24,800 files into the Cerner/Oracle Electronic Health Record system while maintaining a minimum accuracy rate of 96%.

Key responsibilities
  • Accurately attach and verify images to the appropriate electronic health record elements
  • Index documents with correct titles, dates of service, and visit locations while maintaining productivity standards
  • Report errors or discrepancies immediately and collaborate with Health Information Management Section staff to optimize workflow
Required qualifications
  • Knowledge of medical clinics and clinical documentation
  • Ability to locate Financial Identification Numbers (FINs) and link documents to veteran records in Cerner/Oracle
  • Data entry skills with a focus on detail and accuracy
  • Prior experience with Cerner/Oracle or comparable EHR document management systems preferred
  • Completion of required VA Cybersecurity and Privacy training prior to starting work
