Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Records Specialist to manage and secure healthcare records for individuals with serious mental illness.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor engagement status and request healthcare information from relevant facilities/providers
• Retrieve and process medical records in a timely manner to support care planning
• Track request progress and upload records to the electronic health record (EHR) system

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a release of records or medical records role in a healthcare setting
• High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in health information management preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and legal requirements related to medical records
• Understanding of HIPAA and release of information protocols
