Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

Processing release of information requests, the full-time Remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing high-quality customer service to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Completes release of information requests by retrieving and transmitting medical charts accurately
• Validates requests and authorizations for the release of medical information according to established procedures
• Maintains confidentiality and security of patient information while performing quality checks on all work

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer software experience with a general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type 50 words per minute
• Proven customer satisfaction skills and excellent organizational abilities
