Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

Processing release of information requests in a timely manner, the full-time remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing excellent customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Key responsibilities

• Completes and processes release of information requests, including retrieving and scanning medical records
• Validates requests and authorizations, performing quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Maintains a clean and organized work area while providing proactive customer service and addressing client concerns

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer software experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type 50 words per minute
• Proven customer satisfaction skills and ability to multi-task
