Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

Processing release of information requests, the full-time ROI Medical Records Specialist will work remotely during evening shifts from Saturday to Wednesday, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Completes release of information requests by retrieving, scanning, and transmitting medical records accurately
• Validates requests and authorizations for the release of medical information according to established procedures
• Maintains confidentiality and compliance with client policies, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer software experience, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type 50 wpm and proficiently use fax, copier, and scanning machines
• Excellent organizational skills and proven customer satisfaction skills
