Medical Records Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate processing of medical information requests, the full-time remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will manage the release of information while safeguarding patient privacy and adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Completes and validates release of information requests, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards
• Performs quality checks on all work to maintain accuracy and confidentiality of medical records
• Provides excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and proactively identifying concerns

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required
• A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to type 50 words per minute
• Proven customer satisfaction skills and ability to multi-task
