Medical Records Specialist
Job Summary
To ensure timely and accurate processing of release of information requests, the full-time remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will manage patient medical records while safeguarding privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Key responsibilities:
- Completes release of information requests by retrieving and scanning medical records accurately
- Validates requests and authorizations, ensuring compliance with established procedures
- Provides excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and maintaining confidentiality
Required qualifications:
- High School Diploma (GED) required
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
- Strong computer software experience, with general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type 50 wpm and use fax, copier, and scanning machines
- Proven customer satisfaction skills and excellent organizational abilities
