Job Summary
Processing release of information requests, the full-time remote ROI Medical Records Specialist will ensure accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Key responsibilities
- Completes release of information requests by retrieving, scanning, and transmitting medical records according to established procedures
- Validates requests and authorizations for medical information release, performing quality checks to assure accuracy and confidentiality
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area while providing excellent customer service and addressing client concerns proactively
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma (GED) required
- A minimum of 2 years prior experience in a medical records department or similar setting preferred
- Strong computer software experience with general knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type 50 words per minute
- Proven customer satisfaction skills and ability to multi-task
