Medical Transcriptionist

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Medical Transcriptionist I responsible for accurate transcription of laboratory results.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribes referral laboratory results into the laboratory information system (LIS)
• Performs quality assurance on all entered reports prior to verification
• Handles phone communications with referral laboratories and performs clerical support tasks

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Typing speed of 40 wpm with one year of data entry experience
• Preferred: Graduation from a formal medical transcription course
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is preferred
