Medicare Collections Specialist

Job Summary

Managing assigned accounts, the full-time Medicare Collections Specialist will ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, and payment activities while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee billing and collections for assigned accounts, including verification of claims and follow-up with payers
• Document communication related to collection actions and alert management of potential payment issues
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, and third-party funding regulations while meeting productivity and quality goals

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 2 or more years of experience in computer, accounting, collections, and high-volume medical billing or insurance claims processing
• Knowledge of medical insurance claims procedures and documentation preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to manage confidential information and apply independent judgment
