Job Summary
Accountable for obtaining prior authorization for medications, the full-time Medication Access Coordinator will work from home to complete benefit investigations, liaise with insurance companies, and maintain knowledge of patient assistance programs to support patients in need.
Key responsibilities
- Complete prior authorization for medications and document referrals using third-party payer criteria
- Research and follow up on authorization statuses while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of criteria changes
- Identify and enroll patients in appropriate medication assistance programs and educate care teams on specialty services
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) required
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required
- Knowledge of pharmacy reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with patient assistance programs and eligibility requirements
- Experience in the healthcare industry and medical terminology
