Mental Health Specialist II - NJ

Job Summary

To support the 988 Lifeline Services, the part-time Mental Health Specialist II - NJ will provide prompt and customer-friendly support to clients through telephone, chat, and text requests, while performing assessments and making appropriate referrals during the night shift from 12am to 8:30am.

Key responsibilities

• Models effective communication and recovery-oriented living skills to clients
• Accepts and responds to service requests within prescribed timeframes
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of resources and programs for client guidance and referrals

Required qualifications

• Four years of relevant full-time paid experience in a mental health field, or a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant mental health, social, or human services field
• Experience in crisis intervention and support
• Ability to document client interactions accurately in accordance with departmental protocols
• Competency in recognizing and addressing the unique needs of clients
• Familiarity with community resources and referral processes
