Merchant Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Merchant Underwriter to analyze merchant applicants for credit card payment processing and merchant services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze merchant application submissions and provide solutions for accounts that have been pended, declined, or withdrawn
• Conduct commercial credit application reviews and make recommendations to management for higher risk exposures
• Drive increased submission volume by maintaining positive relationships with sales partners and ensuring compliance with underwriting policies

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 2 years of merchant underwriting experience in the bank card payment processing industry
• Ability to multitask and prioritize while managing relationships with various stakeholders
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills for independent problem-solving using data
